Contemporary cabin for accommodation
Urubici, SC

2024
The White View is a 65 m² accommodation unit located in Urubici, in the Serra Catarinense, designed by João Vidotte. Set amidst the landscape of araucarias and mountains, the cabin was conceived to provide an immersive experience in nature, where architecture serves as a frame for the view and for the changes in atmosphere throughout the day and the seasons.

The name La Vista Bianca refers to the sea of clouds that frequently covers the valleys of the region, creating a white view on the horizon, as well as the winter frost that transforms the surrounding landscape. The white color of the cabin dialogues with this natural setting, while the contrast with black elements reinforces an elegant and contemporary composition.

The volumetry in A-frame defines the identity of the project. The large triangular glass facade establishes a direct relationship between the interior and exterior, allowing for ample natural light and framing the landscape as part of the architecture. Internally, the program is organized in an integrated manner, bringing together the bedroom, living area, and kitchen in a single space with a high ceiling.

The guest experience guides the project decisions. The bathtub was positioned in front of a panoramic fixed glass, allowing for contemplation of the landscape during the bath, while the bathroom also features glass plans that maintain this visual connection with the outside. In the external area, the deck houses a heated infinity pool, facing the view, as well as a fireplace that creates an outdoor living space. These elements enhance the lodging experience, allowing enjoyment of the mountain scenery at different times of the day and across the seasons.
