Lumina House

Contemporary single-story residence in the Serra Catarinense
Urubici, SC
-
2023
Lumina House is a single-story residence of approximately 190m² located in Urubici, in the Serra Catarinense, designed in 2023 by architect João Vidotte. The project seeks a contemporary architecture that values formal simplicity, natural materiality, and the presence of light as a central element in the experience of the spaces.

The volume is marked by a horizontal composition, where a large exposed concrete slab projects over the access area, unifying the facade and housing the garage. The materiality combines concrete, wood, and light planes, while slatted panels function as light filters and elements of privacy.

Internally, the house is organized in a linear and integrated layout, with the living room, dining room, and kitchen forming a continuous environment. Large openings enhance spatial perception and allow abundant natural light throughout the day, while the palette of materials favors wood and neutral tones, creating a cozy atmosphere.

At the back, the residence opens up to a covered outdoor gathering area beneath a pergola. The exposed brick introduces texture and material warmth to the space, which features an outdoor living area with a fire pit, designed for moments of gathering and contemplation.
